What is Probate? Do you even need it?
When someone dies owning property in their name alone, probate is necessary, whether they had a will or not. Probate refers to appointing a Personal Representative to transfer the title of assets out of their name and distribute the assets. As experienced Boston, Massachusetts Probate attorneys, we can help you make the process hassle-free.
We represent Personal Representatives throughout the probate process, from getting appointed to administering the estate. We also serve as Personal Representatives to handle the probate process for you from start to finish. We are ready to help you navigate the maze of the probate process.

Small Estates
For small estates worth $25,000 or less (excluding one car), with no real estate held solely in the decedent's name, there is a simple Voluntary Probate process. We provide two services:
1. Voluntary Probate Coaching, which includes assistance and support. Flat Fee: $800.
2. Full-service option to get you appointed and take the stress away from dealing with the court yourself. Flat Fee: $1,600.
Note: May not be appropriate if the sole purpose of probate is to obtain medical records or file a lawsuit.
Take our quick quiz to determine if Voluntary Probate works in your situation, and get started now.
3
Estates over $25,000
If the person who died had more than $25,000 in their name, the probate process can be confusing to navigate.
Most families hire an attorney to help them.
Our goal is to assist the family or the designated Personal Representative or Executor in accessing financial accounts, obtaining a court order to act on behalf of the estate, and providing guidance in this role. We handle all of the court filings, paperwork, and required notices. We provide instructions and guidance on serving as a Personal Representative or Executor.
We offer flat fees whenever possible, which begin at $6,950. To get started, we request a $2,500 deposit.

What about Timing?
Many people feel pressure to "get everything done immediately". In most cases, there is time to understand your options and proceed thoughtfully.
We can help you prioritize what needs attention now and what can wait.
Losing a loved one is hard. Our role is to help make the process clearer, calmer, and more manageable.
