Anticipated Change to the Frail Elder Waiver Program for Married Elders

We anticipate a change coming soon that will affect married elders applying for the Frail Elder Waiver Program through MassHealth. The change will also impact those currently receiving benefits under this program, who applied after January 1, 2014.

The change will result in an asset limit for the spouse of $119,220. If you think that you may be affected by this upcoming change, it is important that you call our office and speak to Attorney Kathy L. McNair for guidance.

The Frail Elder Waiver program is a Community MassHealth program that provides care to seniors to help them continue to live at home rather than in a nursing home. It is a wonderful program that helps many seniors.
